Acceptable Use Policy
(AUP)
USAGE QUANTITY. Many ISPs cap usage at 10GB. RMIS usage
is more generous and is 15 GB per month for the Residential Package, 20GB
for the Residential Plus, 30GB per
month for the Business Light Package and 40GB for the Business Plus.
All usage is calculated on a total of your upload and download usage.
A surcharge applies to users exceeding the bandwidth/network traffic amount
specified for their service package. The surcharges apply to all packages.
They will be charged $5 for each GB used in excess of their specified amount.. (See the
pricing page for more information on surcharge.) At all times
you will be responsible to check your usage for the month.

"You" and “Your” refers to any customer of RMIS. "Services" means any
Connectivity Services provided to you by RMIS.
If you do not understand something in the AUP please contact
larrylavan@gmail.com. A violation of any part of this AUP will result in
suspension of your service or disconnection.
1) Minors. You may not use RMIS services to harm minors in any way.
2) Threats. You may not use RMIS services to transmit any material that
threatens harm to persons or property.
3) Download managers are prohibited.
4) You are responsible for the actions of anyone that accesses services of
RMIS from your service and that they are aware of and comply with this AUP.
You must ensure that others not gain unauthorized access to RMIS Services
meaning wireless routers must be secured.
5) Government rules and regulations. You may not use RMIS services to
provide access to or distribute any material deemed to be illegal by the
governments of Canada or British Columbia or material which would violate
the rights of any third party (including but not limited to copyright).
6) Spam. You must not engage in activities to facilitate, permit or assist
in the sending of unsolicited bulk e-mail either commercial or
non-commercial. If you are doing this unintentionally because of your
computer being compromised we will require that you prove your computer is
clean before reinstating your service.
7) Network disruptions and unfriendly activities. You must not use any
services to facilitate, allow or assist in any Denial of Service (DoS)
attack knowingly or unknowingly. You must not upload or become infected with
Trojans, spyware or viruses, knowingly or unknowingly.
8) Advertising. You must not use or authorize or allow unsolicited e-mail or
newsgroup postings to advertise any services. You must not send unsolicited
bulk e-mail advertising a web site that is hosted with RMIS. You must not
resell the services.
9) Abuse of Network. You must not use any Services in such a way which would
detrimentally affect our servers (including, without limitation, consuming
excessive bandwidth) or our ability to provide services to other customers.
10) Non-payment is reason for interruption of service. A reconnection fee
may apply.
11) Harassment. You must not use RMIS services to transmit e-mail to a
person or company via, or relating to RMIS services after they have
specifically requested that you do not contact them. Report abuse to abuse@redmtn.ca.
It is your responsibility to ensure that any automated mail system you
employ complies with this.
12) Illegal Access. Hacking. You may not use RMIS services for any illegal
purpose(s) including, without limitation, for the purpose of obtaining
unauthorized access to any computer or service. RMIS Services may not be
used to breach the security of another user, or to attempt to access
anyone's computer, software or data, without the knowledge and consent of
that person. RMIS services may not be used in any attempt to circumvent the
user authentication or security of any host, network, or account. This
includes, but is not limited to, accessing data not intended for you,
logging into or making use of a server or account you are not expressly
authorized to access, probing the security of other networks.
13) Fraudulent activity. You may not RMIS services to make fraudulent
offers to sell or buy products, items, or services or to advance any type of
financial scam such as "pyramid schemes," "Ponzi schemes," and "chain
letters."
14) Deception. You must not attempt to impersonate any person by forged
headers or other fraudulent I.D. You must not add, remove or tamper with
network header information to deceive or mislead.
15) You must not use RMIS services to collect replies to communications sent
from any source, where those communications violate this AUP or the usage
policy of the source provider.
16) Reselling the services. You must not share or resell RMIS services to
third parties outside your home or business.
17) You must not run an Internet Server for any purposes (doing so will be
cause for immediate termination of service).
18) You must not exceed any agreed limits or restrictions of any kind on the
use of any services (including, without limitation, disk usage, bandwidth
usage or data transfer quotas).
If you wish to report a breach of this AUP by another RMIS customer, please
e-mail abuse@redmtn.ca with full details including full headers of e-mails
where relevant.
D I S C L A I M E R S
RMIS reserves the right to investigate any violations of this Agreement and
may suspend the involved account or accounts and remove any material which
in its opinion violates this agreement.
You hereby authorize RMIS to cooperate with legal authorities. RMIS may
provide your username, IP address, or other identifying information only to
such authorities.
RMIS is authorized to delete any files, programs, data and email messages
upon termination of your account.
A failure to enforce this Agreement by RMIS shall not be construed as a
waiver of any right by RMIS to do so at any time.
If any portion of this Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable by a court
of law the remaining portions will remain in full force and effect.
RMIS retains the right to revise this agreement at any time.
