BASIC INFORMATION ON PRICE AND BANDWIDTH

There are four packages available to allow you to choose the package that best fits your usage:

  • The Residential Package of 15 GB (gigabytes) for $35.00 per month plus tax.

  • The Premium Residential Package of 20GB for $45.00 per month. plus tax.

  • The Business Light Package of 30 GB for $65.00 per month plus tax. 

  • The Business Premium Package of 40 GB for $85 per month plus tax.

  • ALL packages include 5 email accounts, personal web space and 24/7 technical support.

A surcharge applies to users exceeding the bandwidth/network traffic amount specified for their service package. The surcharges apply to all packages.   You will be charged $10 for each GB used in excess of your specified amount. 

In addition, each customer requires a radio for connectivity.  You may purchase or rent radios from RMIS.  (some conditions may apply) See our products page for more information about the radios RMIS uses and their cost should you wish to purchase.  In order to rent a radio a contract must be signed for a 12 month minimum term and the radio remains the property of RMIS. 

Installation for either the residential or commercial service is $125 to the demarkation box (at the radio).  From demarkation to inside the house is $50/hour plus materials as this is dependent on the specific installation.  Cat 5 wire is $0.40/ft for amounts over 25 feet.  Direct burial wire is $0.60/ft.  If necessary, a grounding plate is $35 and to have the plate buried by an RMIS installer is $25.  If required a dish is $100 and a stinger is $60.

Suspension of services:  The radio rental of $10/month is paid all year regardless of suspension of services by the client.  Winter suspension of service is allowed for up to five months.  There is a $50 reconnection fee.  The radio is to remain on the property unless the service is discontinued at which point the radio will be picked up by RMIS.  No tampering is allowed with the RMIS equipment.  If there are any concerns please contact mfry.imagocorp@gmail.com.

We are in the process of installing a low cost nightly back up service for your convenience and are currently installing a 24/7 generator to guarantee continuation of services regardless of power outages.

You are responsible for monitoring your own account. Click here and go to the Accounts page to check your usage for the month. Your password is the one given by RMIS and your login is the same as your primary email address when you sign up.   • Pay on line and put name beside payment

Payment is due the 1st of each month.

More information about our bandwidth policies:
RMIS purchases bandwidth from Telus and shares it among almost 60 users. An acceptable use policy AUP is used to prevent problems with our shared system, Telus or Government. RMIS is a non-profit Society run by volunteers. A thousand hours of donated services are bringing broadband to our customers in Silverton and Rosebery. 

Under the Small Communities Program, services were intended only for email, games, newsgroups, file transfers, chat and surfing.  It is helpful to log your computer off of the internet when not using it. Streaming music and video uses up extreme bandwidth when you are not actually listening.  Using extreme bandwidth results in slow service for everyone.
Be conscious by not downloading a movie which may take up 3 megabytes per second and prevent other users to get on the system.  Therefore please adhere to the download limits.  All users are capped at 30/GB per month.  An excess bandwidth surcharge for everything over 15GB/month applies to the basic package.
